Award-winning author Jason Reynolds will take on Spider-Man for Marvel YA!
Jason Reynolds is the latest addition to the Marvel YA family.
The author behind When I Was The Greatest and The Boy In The Black Suit is joining Marvel’s recent push toward prose novels for teens. Reynolds will be writing a Spider-Man novel based on the Miles Morales incarnation of the popular character, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada announced during his annual Cup O’ Joe panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Jason Reynolds joins Margaret Stohl (Black Widow: Forever Red, Black Widow: Red Vengeance), as well as Shannon and Dean Hale (with an upcoming, untitled Captain Marvel novel) on the Marvel YA team. The studio is also developing a Middle Grade brand with Shannon and Dean Hale’s upcoming Squirrel Girl story and Tom Angleberger’s Rocket & Groot: Stranded on Planet Strip Mall.
Reynold’s major breakout novel When I Was The Greatest received the John Steptoe Award for New Talent. His follow-ups The Boy In The Black Suit and All-American Boys (co-written with Brendan Kiely) both received the Coretta Scott King Honor award.
Marvel has not announced the official title or release date for his Miles Morales Spider-Man tale.
