Jeff Nathanson Is Set To Write Screenplay for Disney’s Live-Action THE LION KING

Jeff Nathanson has been tapped to write the screenplay for Disney’s Live-Action remake of THE LION KING!

Jeff Nathanson will join John Favreau in reimagining Disney’s 1994 The Lion King. With works like Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal and the Rush Hour films under his belt, Nathanson will write the screenplay for the beloved disney film.

The project is being fast-tracked into production, meaning it is a priority for the film company to attach it to a director, producer and cast. No dates have been released or set yet for the film.

The Lion King was released in 1994 and is one of the highest grossing animated films of all time. It’s success has derived many other works such as sequels with The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, The Lion King 1 1/2, two television series Timon and Pumba and The Lion Guard and not to forget it’s Broadway adaption.
