Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wants to Play This DC Character…

Which character does DC Comics veteran Jeffrey Dean Morgan have his eyes on?

In a recent Stalker Walker convention, Jeffrey Dean Morgan told fans that he kind of, really, wants to play the DC antihero Lobo one day in a movie. For any DC amateurs out there, Lobo is a DC Comics antihero first created in the 80s. And he’s kind of a “badass”. Even though, he got revived in the 90s as a parody of the grim, dark Marvel characters like Cable and The Punisher, Lobo didn’t stay a parody for long.
The only one I want to play in DC is Lobo. He’s badass. Marvel, I don’t know, everyone that’s in it is pretty good. I feel like all the greatest characters, they’re working.

So here’s the 411.

Lobo is an intergalactic bounty hunter, the last of his species…because, ahem, he killed them all … moving on. He’s super strong and he travels around the cosmos on a motorcycle. Sound like anyone familiar? *Negan* Not to mention, he wears leather, smokes cigars, loves violence, and pretty much treats everybody like dirt.

So best known for his current role as the villain Negan on The Walking Dead, it seems that Morgan pretty much has the violent crazy persona nailed down. Sure he’s already been in two DC Comics movies, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan isn’t quite ready to leave the universe just yet. He’s already played the Comedian in Watchmen (published by an imprint of DC Comics) and Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so why not add the crazy Lobo to the list?

But wanting to play a character and actually getting to play the character are two incredibly different things. DC’s been trying to get a Lobo movie off of the ground but it’s still stuck in development hell. Let’s try and look at the silver lining though. Since the DC cinematic universe is still growing, Lobo could very well show up in someone else’s movie.
Lobo will actually be making his first live-action appearance in the TV show Krypton. And the best part? The role’s still up for grabs. So who knows, maybe Morgan will get his wish soon?

What do you think of this possible casting? Yay or nay?
