Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons Talk JUSTICE LEAGUE Return and “Simpler” Direction

What part will Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons play in the JUSTICE LEAGUE action?

Two stars from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice are talking about the Warner Bros. DC franchise’s first major ensemble film, Justice League!

First, Jesse Eisenberg aka Lex Luthor gave a somewhat cryptic answer regarding whether or not Luthor will play a big part in the action while at MCM Comic Con in London. He seemed to suggest that he’ll be in the film, but then caught himself and said he “thinks” and “hopes” to be involved.

“They just started filming Justice League so I’m kind of waiting for my crack at it… I think so, and I love it and I love everybody, it’s a really talented group of people obviously, so I certainly hope to be in it.”

After Warner Bros revealed a pretty major deleted scene with Lex Luthor in the Kryptonian spaceship communing with a mystery alien (Steppenwolf, perhaps?) handling Mother Boxes, it seems like he would have some involvement in major Darkseid chaos to come. It’s just a matter of when that chaos comes.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Irons talked to Event Magazine about his confirmed return for Justice League and how the movie will differ from Batman V Superman, which took a critical pummeling (“Deservedly so,” according to Irons.)

“I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter, but it was sort of overstuffed,” the actor who plays Batman’s loyal servant, Alfred Pennyworth, said. “It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.”

We’ll see for ourselves when Justice League hits theaters on November 10, 2017.
