JK Rowling will teach fans about THE HISTORY OF MAGIC IN NORTH AMERICA with new web shorts!
We know tons of information about Harry Potter‘s wizarding world in Britain, but lately, JK Rowling has been graciously expanding our knowledge. At the Harry Potter Celebration, she revealed several wizarding schools throughout the world, including the North American magic school, Ilvermorny. And now, before Newt Scamander comes to America in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, JK Rowling is giving fans an in-depth look at magic in that neck of the woods!
Over the course of the week, JK Rowling will release four short stories in a collection called The History of Magic in North America on Pottermore, with the first story coming at 9am EST tomorrow, March 8th. Each story will shed some light on an important facet of magical legend and progress in the region and offer up new information to the fans!
Here’s what to expect:
— The U.S. Hogwarts, Ilvermorny
— Skin-walkers, a Native American legend
— The Salem witch trials, a formative event for the country’s national magical identity
— Our Ministry of Magic, the Magical Congress of the United States of America
