JK Rowling Confirms She’s Writing A New Children’s Book

HARRY POTTER author JK Rowling set to return to children’s lit!

The Harry Potter series was JK Rowling’s first foray into children’s literature– arguably expanding into young adult literature as the characters aged– but it won’t be her last.

In an interview with BBC Radio 2, Rowling confirmed that she’s going back to her roots with her latest novel:

“I have written part of a children’s book that I really love, so I’m definitely going to finish that. There will will be another children’s book.”

The author extraordinaire also said that she’s planning on “Novels in the plural” and that her “mid-life crisis” is centered around the idea that she’ll die before getting all of her stories down on paper.

Since the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007, Rowling has released four adult books including The Casual Vacancy and the Cormoran Strike trilogy, which was released under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
