Okay, let me clarify one thing in regards to the casting of Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters. I honestly do not know how Ansel’s acting ability is as I have never seen him in anything, so when I posted that rant about Ansel being cast, it wasn’t because I didn’t think he could play Gus. That question has yet to be answered for me. My concern is just the fact that people might not be able to separate the two different characters that both her and Shailene Woodley will be playing for Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars.
But I can understand that, for those in the audition room, some might not even know about Divergent or the fact that Ansel is already playing Shailene’s brother in that movie, or even if they did, they might have just really been blown away by Ansel’s performance to forego that and cast him. (I think I said that in the previous post.)
Either way, it just bodes for some interesting Tumblr posts in the near future. Now, let’s forget my opinion, you can watch John’s opinion below… and his dog Willy.
