The AFTER movie has found its star in WISH UPON actress Josephine Langford!
Following a slew of speculation, we finally know who will star in the movie adaptation of Anna Todd‘s After.
Josephine Langford (sister of 13 Reasons Why actress Katherine Langford) has signed on to play Tessa Young, a meek and studious college freshman whose life is turned around when she meets Hardin Scott, played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (nephew of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, aka lil’ Voldemort in Harry Potter if you really wanna feel old,) a consummate brooding bad boy. Tessa and Hardin’s dispositions couldn’t clash more, but they feel an inexplicable pull to one another that tests them over and over again.
“I’m so excited to be joining After as Tessa and to be able to bring her character to life. After-nators have been waiting so patiently to see this story and I’m thrilled to be a part of telling it,” Langford said in a statement to Deadline.
The movie is set to start filming next week in Atlanta with Jenny Gage directing.
Overall, After is a bit contentious as the original story was a One Direction fanfic (“Hardin” was originally “Harry,”) but it was picked up for a six-figure deal by Simon & Schuster and has sold tens of millions of copies since. Check the book out now via Amazon.
The movie is due out sometime next year, though an official release date hasn’t been announced.
