Deadpool 2 adds another to the cast!
Josh Brolin joins Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2 as Cable. Brolin beat out other actors rumored to be on the shortlist for the role including Michael Shannon, David Harbour, Russell Crowe, and Brad Pitt.
Cable is described as quite the opposite of Deadpool. He is a leader and used to being obeyed and is very controlled but with an aura of simmering violence. In the comics, Cable was from the future and was the adult son of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops.
David Leitch is set to direct the sequel with production beginning this June in Vancouver. Also cast in the movie is Zazie Beetz, who will portray a super-powered mercenary named Domino.
Brolin’s other upcoming movies include Granite Mountain, Soldado, Suburbicon, and The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter. He will also star in Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos in 2018.
