According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Gad is in final negotiations to join the cast of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast. He will take on the role of Le Fou, the buffoonish loyal sidekick to Gaston.
Gad is the first American among his British cast members Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, and Luke Evans.
Beauty, a French fairy tale, tells of a young woman who takes her father’s place as a prisoner in a monstrous being’s castle, only to fall in love with the creature who turns out to be a prince.
Notably, Josh Gad voiced the character of Olaf in Disney’s Frozen. He will reprise his role in Frozen Fever, the animated short that will play in front of Cinderella, in theater’s today.
