Jurassic World has now become one of only four movies to pass the $1 billion oversea box office milestone.
The fourth installment in the Jurassic Park series joins Avatar, Titanic, and Furious 7 in the four films to pass the $1 billion mark. As of this Sunday, Jurassic World has grossed $1.003 billion internationally, making it third on the list behind Avatar ($2.03 billion) and Titanic ($1.53 billion).
Jurassic World’s $1.65 billion earnings worldwide makes the film the number three title of all time, again after Avatar and Titanic. The movie made $647.5 in North America alone.
The film, directed Colin Trevorrow, holds the record for the biggest opening weekend in movie history. It’s also already lined up for a 2018 sequel, taken the internet by storm, and provided fans with an abundance of behind the scenes footage and interviews.
Jurassic World will be available for DVD/Blu-Ray on October 20, 2015, and in Digital HD on October 1.
