Thresh, played by the extraordinarily nice and talented Dayo Okeniyi, doesn’t get to deliver many lines in the film, but when he does, he makes them count. Who doesn’t love the moment when he lets Katniss go, “Just this time, 12. For Rue,” he says. If Thresh doesn’t cut Katniss a break, we have no story. Katniss is dead.
For that reason, Thresh becomes one of the unheralded heroes of the story. That’s probably what ru3ful.tumblr.com had in mind when posting this image.
