SHADOWHUNTERS Star Katherine McNamara to have Recurring Role in Season 7 of ARROW

Another big casting has been announced for season 7 of ARROW, and this time they recruit a Shadowhunter.

Katherine ‘Kat’ McNamara, who plays Clary Fairchild in Freeform’s Shadowhunters, already has locked in her next role, as TVLine made the official announcement that she’ll be taking on the role of a Star City street fighter and thief named Maya in the upcoming seventh season of Arrow.

Maya is described as “Buffy the Superhero Slayer.” Of course, if you don’t know the reference, look it up, because Buffy is awesome. So, yeah, apparently Maya is going to be an awesome recurring character in the series, at least for this upcoming season.

McNamara is just the latest addition to the casting news that’s been going on for a while, as we already know that Colton Haynes will be returning as a series regular and reprising his role of Roy Harper, Ruby Rose will take on the Batwoman role, Elizabeth Tulloch will play Superman’s forever love interest, and Stephen Amell’s wife, Cassandra Jean Amell, will play the wife of Mr. Freeze, Nora.

We’re excited to see that Kat already has this role in the works, but for Shadowhunters fans, this is just another notch to the end of the Freeform series. We know the fans will still try to the very end, and maybe even after the last half of season 3, to #SaveShadowhunters. We love them for it!

Arrow season 7 premieres on Monday, October 15th.
