Ken Marino will join the cast of Agent Carter as a member of the mafia
Ken Marino will join Marvel’s Agent Carter in a recurring role as one Peggy Carter’s new Los Angeles adversaries.
Marino will play “Joseph Manfredi, a volatile leader in the Maggia crime syndicate who will help Peggy Carter’s adversaries further their agenda,” says Marvel.
Executive producers of the show, Tara Butters, Chris Dingess, and Michele Fazekas also made a statement on the casting:
“We’ve loved working with Ken ever since he played a gay ex-demon for us on Reaper, and we were so happy he was available for this role. His range is incredible – he can go from comedy to romance to drama with ease. Writing for him is easy, because he can do pretty much anything. And he used to have a karaoke room in his house, which makes him even more awesome.”
Jeph Loeb, the Head of Marvel Television also weighed in:
“At Marvel, even our villains need a certain degree of charm as they make life difficult for our heroes. Ken brings a quality to Joseph Manfredi that only serves to make him even more menacing, adding another layer of depth to our already outstanding supporting cast.”
The second season of the hit show is expected to air early next year, during the mid-season break of Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. This season will follow Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter as she travels to a new city, dealing with threats, gaining new friendships, and potentially a new love.
