Is Kiersey Clemons DC’s new Iris West in THE FLASH movie?
It looks as if The Flash movie director Rick Famuyiwa is turning to a familiar face from one of his previous projects as casting continues of his DC Comics adaptation!
Famuyiwa has reportedly named his former Dope star Kiersey Clemons as his first choice for the female lead in the film, though Warner Bros has yet to confirm the casting.
Though the character in question has not been confirmed, it can be assumed that Kiersey Clemons would be playing Iris West, Barry Allen’s best friend/love interest and a sharp reporter for Central City News who carefully follows the adventures of the Scarlet Speedster, who will be portrayed by Ezra Miller.
Other than Dope, Clemons is known for roles in Extant, Transparent, and Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally.
After original director Seth Grahame-Smith’s exit from The Flash, Rick Famuyima was announced as the new choice in early June. The movie will not be an origin story, as Barry’s powers were already introduced in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but few other details are known about the film at this time. Production is expected to begin later this year.
UPDATE: Kiersey Clemons was confirmed for the role of Iris West via Variety on July 25th.
