Is Kit Harington To Blame for that Infamous Coffee Cup?

So rumor has it, Kit Harington is to blame for that infamous coffee cup that broke the internet when the final Game of Thrones season aired.

That is, according to his co-star Sophie Turner.

In an interview with Conan O’Brien, Turner jokingly cleared the air and told us all who the real culprit of leaving that coffee cup in the episode is. Throwing her co-star under the bus, Turner said that neither she nor Emilia Clark could’ve done it because neither of them wouldn’t have been drinking coffee during that scene, since they both had to wear corsets during production. For those who don’t know, drinking in a corset is not a pleasant experience.

“I hear this every day of my life, this coffee cup thing. So it’s good to know that the coffee cup got more press than the final season altogether,” Turner told O’Brien during his show.

The coffee cup was where Kit’s  [Harington’s] chair was. First I blamed it on Emilia [Clarke], but I don’t think Emilia [Clarke] would do that. Kit [Harington] is lazy, and I think he would have done that. It was in front of Kit’s [Harington’s] chair and then obviously he moved, so this picture was taken and it looked like it was in my seat, but I wasn’t there either. It was Kit [Harington]. It was a 100 percent Kit [Harington].

But, have no fear. If you watch the episode back, you’ll now see that it is no longer there. *slow applause* So for all of you period purists who get completely thrown off when you see modern items appear in period pieces, HBO has your back and you can now re-watch this episode and be as happy as a clam. *mic drop*
