L has it all figured out in a new DEATH NOTE clip!
Netflix’s take on the Japanese manga Death Note for American audiences hits the streaming service next week, and the feature film is being teased with a tense new clip featuring two careful foes.
Death Note follows Light Turner (Nat Wolff), a teen who discovers a notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose face he knows simply by writing down their name, courtesy of a spirit of death named Ryuk (Willem Dafoe). Light uses his newfound power to craft the world into the utopia he thinks it should be. But no one can truly maintain the balance between life and death fairly, and Light is no exception.
In the clip featured above, a partially-hidden L (Lakeith Stanfield), a leader in the charge to stop the Death Note killings, confronts Light in a diner. Though many people don’t know who is behind the chaos, L makes it clear that he’s traced it all back to Light, explaining just how he figured it out.
Death Note will be out on August 25, 2017.
