THE LEGEND OF KORRA Graphic Novel Is Coming June 2017

The graphic novel, THE LEGEND OF KORRA: TURF WARS, will come out next summer and continue from where the last season of the show ended.

Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra ended in 2014 after four strong seasons, but the story does not just end there. Dark Horse will release a three part graphic novel series called Turf Wars. Michael DiMartino, the co-creator of the T.V. series, and artist Irene Koh are working on the graphic novel, with ample feedback from Bryan Konietzo, the other co-creator of the series.

The T.V. series ended with Korra and Asami’s romantic union as they took a trip into the newly opened spirit portal. Turf Wars will resume right where the show left off. Korra and Asami will return from their trip to find Republic City in chaos. The spirit portal has done quite the opposite of establishing peace, and a developer has plans to turn it into an amusement park.

“Korra has to figure out how to find a new balance in the city with all this stuff that’s gone on,” Michael DiMartino told the EW. “It’s gonna take place right after the finale, so it’s focusing on Korra and Asami’s relationship as a new threat emerges. It’s kind of like the aftermath dealing with the new portal in the city, and all the evacuees coming back to find their homes wiped out cause of the portal.”
