Maisie Richardson-Sellers is the new Vixen on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow!
The Originals’ actress, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, joins season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular. She’ll take on the role of Vixen on the time travelling drama.
Megalyn Echikunwoke, who portrayed Vixen last season on Arrow could not reprise the role due to scheduling conflicts. However, Echikunwoke’s version was a later incarnation of Vixen named Mari McCabe. Richardson-Sellers’ incarnation of the DC Comics superhero is her grandmother, Amaya Jiwe. Amaya’s powers are derived from the Tantu Totem, allowing her to access the abilities of animals along with a healing factor that make her hard to kill.
Megalyn Echikunwoke will continue to voice Vixen on the animated TV series on The CW’s digital channel, CW Seed.
Richardson-Sellers past TV credits include The Originals, where she played Eva Sinclair, a witch whose body was inhabited by Rebekah. She was also seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Korr Sella, a resistance officer reporting to General Leia Organa.
Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 premieres Thursday, October 13, 2016 on The CW.
