CARS 3 teaser touts some tough competition as Lightning McQueen fades!

Meet the new generation of racecars coming to Cars 3. They’re faster, more aerodynamic, and they’re giving the old favorite, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), a run for his money.

Rather than showing off all the new cars, the latest trailer released by Disney Pixar focuses in on Jackson Storm, voiced by Armie Hammer, who serves as Lightning’s biggest rivalry. Of course, that means we get to relive the older car’s major crash, which was the main focus of the first teaser.

Don’t worry! The New Generation isn’t all bad. Following Lightning’s accident, its a young car named Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo) who will help him get back on track. This story is an ode to the complex relationship between the young and the aging, and we love that Disney Pixar always integrates smart themes like this into their films.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns.
