BYU grads and current students want “Live or Survive” on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 end credits

About a year or so ago, a couple of BYU students, Taylor Miranda and Eliza Smith, were assigned to write a song for the end credits of The Hunger Games for their songwriting class. And that they did with the song titled “Live or Survive.” After they completed the assignment, they felt strongly about the song and were encouraged to try to push it to those associated with Lionsgate and The Hunger Games franchise.

They brought in Richard Williams and Nate Young to compose the music for the song, and they formed the group TREN.

It doesn’t often happen that a fan-made song is put into a major feature film, even if it is just for the end credits, but it’s not impossible either, and I commend this group for making themselves known and getting their song and their name out there. Regardless of whether it actually catches the eyes and ears of those that can make it happen, it’s still a beautiful song and fits appropriately with the theme of the movie.

Let us know what you think of the song, and if you do like it, please share so that others can listen, too!
