Live-Action LILO & STITCH In The Works At Disney

The next Disney animated film to get a live-action remake will be Lilo & Stitch! The 2002 film about a Hawaiian girl who forms an unbreakable connection with a dog-like alien spurred several direct-to-video sequels and a television series.

Disney has tapped Mike Van Waes to write the script and the film will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich who also worked on the live-action remake of Aladdin.

Van Waes is known as a horror writer, having written The Crooked Man, a film being developed as a Conjuring Universe spinoff, and Not in Kansas, a Wizard of Oz themed horror flick.

No news yet on whether this will be a theatrical release or if it will be released on Disney’s streaming service.
