Classic Wonder Woman to take on a high-powered SUPERGIRL role!
Supergirl hasn’t actually been renewed for Season 2 yet, but with CBS heavily hinting at plans to do so, the executive producers are putting all their cards on the table in a big way: They’ve recruited classic DC actress Lynda Carter!
Carter, who played Wonder Woman on the beloved television show from 1975 to 1979, will join Supergirl Season 2 as “the female president of the United States,” according to Berlanti. The show tried to bring her character in this season, but too many scheduling conflicts prevented it from happening.
The show is rather infamous for bringing old DC favorites into the mix, including Lois & Clark‘s Dean Cain and the star of the 1984 Supergirl movie, Helen Slater, as Kara’s parents. Hopefully, we’ll get even more great appearances as the show goes on!
Supergirl airs Mondays on CBS and will feature a major crossover event with The Flash on March 28th.
