GOTHAM embraces the new theme for season three of the DC-inspired series, “Mad City,” and we have the trailer to prove it.
Fox released a new trailer, photo, and poster to promote the third season of Gotham, a series that constantly strives to put the focus more on the bad guys. But we still get to see how the changes in Gotham through a few good eyes.
As shown in the poster below, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is still a significant part of the show, with his face dominating while he holds the baddy criminals that plague his “mad city.” Check out the trailer below.

Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is growing up fast. You can see him in some high-rise corner office, telling his butler/guardian Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) that “if he [does] this, there’s no turning back.” Alfred agrees. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but it sounds pretty serious. But the whole trailer is pretty serious, showing the villains that continue to go by their own rules.
You could catch a glimpse of villains Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas), Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), Hugo Strange (BD Wong), the adult Ivy Pepper (Maggie Geha), and Barbara Keen (Erin Richards), whom we’re still not sure which side she’s really on.
It’s still more about Jim Gordon than anyone else, and this season, it looks like he’ll be playing the role of “James Gordon: Vigilante.”
Gotham returns to Fox on Monday, September 19, 2016.
