JJ Abrams confirms Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk as the newest additions to STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE!
Two actors with a massive following of their own have signed on to an epic new project! While at the Star Wars D23 presentation, Disney announced that Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk will play roles in first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One!
Mads Mikkelsen is a Danish actor best known for his roles in NBC’s Hannibal and the James Bond film Casino Royale.
Alan Tudyk is a bit of a Disney staple, having provided voice work for several animated features including Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, and Moana. The actor does occasionally step up screen himself, but according to a recent press release, the actor will indeed play a “performance-capture character” in the film.
The D23 Expo also unleashed the first cast photo, which you can see below!
Also, in a bit of rebranding, the spin-offs will no longer be known as the “Star Wars anthology”, but rather “Star Wars stories.”
Star Wars: Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16, 2016. The film also stars Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelshon, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, and Donnie Yen.
