Maisie Williams’ Reaction to the Final Scene of GAME OF THRONES Season 5 Finale

See other fans’ reaction to the final scene of Game of Thrones Season 5 finale

I’ve seen reactions to many things lately, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen as much reaction to the final scene of the Game of Thrones season 5 finale. Granted, it was pretty devastating for many people.

Anyway, moving on. The season has not been a happy one for many viewers, for one reason or another, and I’m not going to get into that, because the can has already been opened and I don’t want to play with the worms. However, for this final episode, there was definitely a lot going on for all the major characters in the show. We got to see Sansa and Theon (and I’ll say “Theon”) make their… escape? We see a horrendous death (that matches the Red Viper’s death) by the hands of Arya, and Arya’s subsequent punishment for said death. We see Myrcella acknowledge her Uncle Jamie being her dad and that warm embrace between father and daughter, and then Myrcella’s dying in her father’s arms immediately after from Ellaria’s kiss of death. *sigh* And we see Cersei take her shameful Walk of Atonement through the streets of Kings Landing, which some fans actually felt sorry for her for… but only some fans. However, the finale was what broke probably everyone who dared to care about these characters.

Jon Snow, one of the few truly good men on the series, met his end in true Julius Caesar-type fashion. Betrayed by his own men, he was stabbed by each of the Night’s Watch for allowing himself to care about the Wildings and bringing them to the Wall for protection from the White Walkers. Fans around the world were devastated, even if they did know what was coming. Some reacted quite hatefully towards the Night’s Watch, specifically Olly, the youngest of the stabbers. Others yelled out their anger towards HBO and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. And of course, others added author George R.R. Martin (who is not having any of it anymore.)

One such fan is a young lady by the name of Maisie Williams. You might know her as Arya, or blind Arya now, on Game of Thrones. Here was her genuine reaction to her half-brother’s demise.

All caps! That’s a big deal. I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry about the way she tweeted it out.  All joking aside, though, this is truly sad, because we’ll never get to see Jon Snow and Arya Stark hug each other like they did in season one.

Never.

So, for Maisie, I think this hurts for her more than for the fans.  And that’s a lot of hurt.  But either way, it pretty much aligns with the many that watched the finale.

I can say this.  Nobody cares about the f*ckin Watch anymore.
