Marie Lu’s LEGEND Adaptation Lands At BCDF Pictures

After switching studios, dystopian sci-fi thriller LEGEND is on track for an adaptation!

Marie Lu‘s debut series Legend is headed to the big screen once again!

Legend was originally optioned by CBS Films in 2011 and developed the project to the point where Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies) was set to direct. The project stalled out, but thankfully, the adaptation is getting a new life thanks to BCDF Pictures!

Legend follows June, a teen military prodigy living in a dystopian Republic who’s on the hunt for a wanted criminal named Day. June believes Day killed her brother, but when their worlds collide, they undercover a dark conspiracy that June never dreamed of.

Joseph Muszynski has signed on to write the script.

“The script that BCDF has put together looks fantastic and stays so true to the story and characters,” Marie Lu told THR. “I’m incredibly excited about working with this amazing team and bringing Legend to life.”

BCDF is the studio behind the movies Bachelorette, Liberal Arts, and the upcoming Can You Keep A Secret? adaptation starring Alexandra Daddario.
