Mark Hamill shares old school photos and stories from the STAR WARS set!
There were plenty of photos taken in the early days of the Star Wars franchise, but many of them didn’t see the light of day until years later. But for all the special photo books and anniversary spreads, there’s one photo that holds a special place in Mark Hamill‘s heart and hasn’t been seen before.
Hamill took to Twitter to share “perhaps the very first” photo of himself as Luke Skywalker. He was a young’un of 25-years-old in the sands of Tunisia (aka Tatooine), waiting to film his first scene, looking hopeful but a wee bit anxious.
Taken in Tunisia early morning Day #1 waiting for my 1st shot (emerging from home for robot auction)-Perhaps the very 1st #LukePic #SW pic.twitter.com/WMCGnWCotP

With the help of a fan account, the actor also exposed a photo that Lucasfilm refused to release for years. Why? It shows off a little more than the finalized costume design.
For years Lucasfilm wouldn't release this pic-U can see the low-cut t-shirt under my tunic& I'm not wearing my leggings #StopInTheNameOfLove https://t.co/HLiYaiTgVR

It’s definitely great to see the star reminiscing and get some behind-the-scenes perspective!
