WARNING: Spoilers regarding Season 9 finale
So… not like it should be a surprise after what happened in the season 9 finale of Supernatural, but actor Mark Sheppard, who plays the ever complicated Crowley, demon turned King of Hell, will be returning as a series regular for the 10th season of Supernatural.
The English character actor has seen his role as Crowley, the cunning King of Hell, expanded in recent seasons of the cult drama, and played a major part in the events of the season nine finale, which ended with Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) being transformed into a demon under Crowley’s watchful eye.
A genre TV staple for many years, Sheppard has appeared in everything from “Battlestar Galactica,” “Doctor Who” and “Firefly” to “White Collar,” “The X-Files” and “24″ over the course of his career. He has recurred on “Supernatural” in various capacities since his introduction in season five.
Considering that Mark plays a character that you love to hate, and he’s been around enough on the show that you definitely see how complex his character’s arc has become (and is still yet so simple in that he is evil), it’s no surprise that this is really a thrill for all the Supernaturalists out there. Season 9 has been a wild ride (that ended with that crazy shocker), which is surprising, given that it’s SEASON 9! So, we can only anticipate Season 10 (possibly the final season) will be just as wild, if not more so. With Mark in the mix, it most definitely will be.
