Rachel McAdams is Marvel’s rumored choice to star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in DOCTOR STRANGE!
Steven Vincent Strange may be a Sorcerer Supreme, but that doesn’t mean he works alone. The character will have a female companion along for the journey when his movie, Doctor Strange, hits next year, and rumor has it that character will be portrayed by Rachel McAdams!
Variety reports that McAdams is the actress Marvel wants for the role, though they can’t confirm whether or not she’s been given a solid offer.
Last month, Rachel Adams admitted to the LA Times that she had spoken to Marvel about the role, but didn’t sound totally confident:
“It’s still super-early days, and I don’t know where that’s gonna go, if it’s gonna go anywhere at all.”
No one knows the exact role she’ll play, but we’re guessing it will be Dr. Strange’s love interest Clea, a Sorceress Supreme from a different dimension who starts out as a disciple of Strange.
Rachel McAdams has most recently starred in True Detective and Southpaw, but is pretty famously known for her work in Mean Girls and The Notebook.
Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor will co-star in the Doctor Strange as Strange’s mentor The Ancient One and Baron Mordo, respectively.
