Marvel Studios officially announced Phase 3 on their cinematic universe today during a major press event in Los Angeles!
There’s tons of new information coming from studio president Kevin Feige, so here’s a breakdown!
CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 will be titled CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.
Both Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr joined the event (and even faced off for a second!) in support of the announcement.
THE AVENGERS 3 will be split into two films– THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART 1 and PART 2.
BLACK PANTHER is officially coming to the big screen on November 3, 2017.
Chadwick Boseman (42, GET ON UP) will star. Boseman joined the panel as well to talk about the character.
The first solo female Marvel superhero movie will be CAPTAIN MARVEL, due out July 6, 2018.
We’ll also be heading back into space for INHUMANS on November 2, 2018.
THOR: RAGNAROK is coming on July 28, 2017.
The long-rumored release date for DOCTOR STRANGE was a little off. The film will be out on November 4, 2016 instead.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 is also getting a new, earlier release date: May 5, 2017
In order, that would make the movie release schedule…
- THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
- CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
- DOCTOR STRANGE
- GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2
- THOR: RAGNAROK
- BLACK PANTHER
- THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART 1
- CAPTAIN MARVEL
- INHUMANS
- THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART 2
What about that Benedict Cumberbatch casting? Or Marvel supposedly negotiating with Sony to get Spider-Man on board? Here’s what Kevin Feige had to say:
“Anything that wasn’t specifically revealed today is either not true at all or still rumor.”
