Check out new concept art from Universal’s Jurassic World
Over the weekend, Universal’s Jurassic World, the fourth movie of the Jurassic Park movie franchise, broke a record that Marvel’s The Avengers has held for three years. In 2012, The Avengers hit the box office running with an opening weekend gross of $207,438,708 in 4349 theaters. Jurassic World stomped that figure with an opening weekend gross of $208,806,270 in 4274 theaters.
And in good sport fashion, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige tweeted out his non-obligatory congrulations to executive producer Steven Spielberg, director Colin Trevorrow, and Universal for taking over the throne of Opening Weekend King.

Of course, having Chris Pratt, who’s presence in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, as the main human in the movie was probably a contributing factor that Marvel doesn’t mind being attached to.
