Marvel’s IRON FIST Adds Two New Cast Members

Iron Fist’s rivals have been cast for Marvel’s Netflix series!

Every hero needs a good rivalry to start down the right path and Iron Fist‘s first major rivals have finally been cast.

Jessica Stroup (90210) has been cast as Joy Meachum and Tom Pelphrey (Banshee) has been cast as her brother, Ward Meachum. Both characters are the children of Harold Meachum for the show, though Ward was Harold’s brother and Joy’s uncle in the comics.

In the comic story line, Harold Meachum is the high-powered former business partner of Danny Rand’s father who betrays him, leading to his death. Danny Rand aka Iron Fist is out to right Meachum’s wrongs but in doing so, he becomes part of a deeper, more bitter family rivalry with Joy and Ward that may cost many lives.

Iron Fist is the fourth of five Marvel programs heading to Netflix as part of a 2013 deal which also includes predecessors Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage (out Sept. 30th) and will be followed by a team-up series, The Defenders, sometime in 2018.

Iron Fist is expected out sometime in late 2017, but does not yet have an official release date.
