Another GAME OF THRONES alum joins Marvel’s IRON FIST!

If you’re looking at potential actors who may join Iron Fist, former Game of Thrones cast members are apparently a good place to start!

Jessica Henwick, best known for her roles as Nymeria Sand on Game of Thrones and X-Wing pilot Jess “Testor” Pava in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has joined the cast of Iron Fist as a series regular. She’ll portray Colleen Wing, a New York City martial artist and dojo owner who is an important ally of Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, particularly in his early days. She’s also best friends with Misty Knight, Danny’s eventual love interest.

Henwick is the second casting announcement specifically for the Iron Fist show. Finn Jones, also from Game of Thrones, will play the title hero. However, characters from earlier Marvel-Netflix team-ups are expected to make their way on the the show including Simone Missick as Misty Knight, who will make her debut in Luke Cage this fall.

Iron Fist is the fourth of five planned shows heading to Netflix as part of a Marvel deal cemented in 2013. The show is preceded by Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage and will be followed by an ensemble series, The Defenders.

A release date for the show has yet to be set, but the series is expected in 2017.
