Marvel’s IRON FIST Canceled After Two Seasons

Some sad news for the fans of IRON FIST.

In a joint statement to Deadline, Marvel and Netflix have announced that the series has been canceled after two seasons.

“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners… We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

The news of the cancellation comes as a bit of a surprise, shortly after the second season of the show arrived to Netflix on September. Even though the series had an overall mixed reception, particularly from the critics, both the latter and the fans noted an improvement in the second season of Iron Fist, talking about better fight sequences and a better overall pace. It seemed audiences were excited to get to see more of the story after the season 2 finale.

Despite the cancellation, members of the cast like Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick, who portrayed Danny Rand and Colleen Wing respectively, have expressed through social media their gratitude for being part of the project, leaving open the possibility to return to their roles if there was ever a chance to continue the telling of the stories of the Immortal Iron Fist.
