The NEW WARRIORS are in need of a new network.

Freeform has parted ways with Marvel’s New Warriors, a 30-minute per episode comedy series that focuses on six young superheroes as they try to navigate the fine line between saving the world and managing their own haphazard lives.

The show was originally given a 10 episode series order at Freeform. The six main cast members, including Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl and Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, and a 2018 release were also announced.

Deadline, who first shared the news, doesn’t specify why the split occurred but says that the show is being shopped to other networks, likely within the Disney/Marvel TV family. New Warriors marks Marvel’s first attempt at a comedy series, but Freeform seems to be moving away from comedic content in general.

Freeform and Marvel are both owned by Disney and the network is still hosting the darker, more serious teen Marvel series Cloak and Dagger, which is due to premiere in early 2018.
