MOANA clip shows the title character’s odd first meeting with demigod Maui!
Given that he’s a demigod, it’s no surprise that Moana‘s Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) has plenty of ego to go around. When Moana (voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) tries to formally address the demigod in hopes of getting him to join her quest, she’s met with a surprising response from the very self-assured man who isn’t about to take her seriously.
Thankfully, Moana isn’t afraid to tell it like it is!
Disney used a blend of 2D and 3D antimation for the movie, plus a new technology called Splash that gives small effects more detail than ever. And you can definitely see it in the water, the sand, and even the characters’ hair!
Needless to say, we can’t wait to see this movie!
