Disney’s The Nutcracker adds Miranda Hart to the cast!
Miranda Hart (Spy) joins the cast of Disney’s live-action reimagining of The Nutcracker. The film will be titled The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s 1816 story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. In the story, one of Clara’s Christmas presents, a Nutcracker doll, comes to life and battles an evil Mouse king with seven heads.
Hart will play the fairy Dew Drop, described as a comedic role. Other cast members include Keira Knightly as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Mackenzie Foy as Clara, Misty Copeland, and Morgan Freeman.
Lasse Hallstrӧm is set to direct and Ashleigh Powell will pen the script.
