VAMPIRE ACADEMY and Modern Family star Sarah Hyland will be making a guest appearance in season 2B of SHADOWHUNTERS.

Sarah Hyland, a regular on the ABC series Modern Family, will be doing a guest stint on Freeform’s Shadowhunters! Freeform confirmed Hyland will be appearing sometime during this summer season of the urban fantasy show, but they have not announced what role she’ll be playing.

In the summer premiere of Shadowhunters, Shadowhunters and Downworlders are picking up the pieces after Valentine’s attack at the Institute. Downworlder numbers are down and the different packs and clans debate on what they must do to survive. With Valentine in custody, the Institute is on high alert, but Jace carries the heaviest burden of all due to his part in igniting the Soul Sword and the secret he is keeping from Clary. But Jace and the Shadowhunters don’t have much time to mourn as a Greater Demon is loose in Manhattan.

Meanwhile, Izzy struggles on the road to recovery when she encounters Sebastian, a mysterious stranger, and Simon tries to understand his new Daylighter status.

Hyland is currently dating Shadowhunters star Dominic Sherwood, whom she met on the set of the 2014 movie adaptation of Vampire Academy. He guest starred on an episode of Modern Family last season, so it’s unsurprising that she would do the same.
