There’s only one more movie left to be released now that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 has been released. However, it was asked by Josh Horowitz at MTV if the idea of doing more movies after Mockingjay is something they’ve looked into. Francis Lawrence probably surprised many of you from what he said in the interview above, but it’s probably not something that Lionsgate has overlooked, given the sheer success of the series.
Like with the Harry Potter films, to have another movie based in the Harry Potter world is something Warner Bros had been looking into even before The Deathly Hallows came onto the screen.
So, I suppose, like Francis said, it’s possible, but only with a careful hand for the reasons that he stated.
What do you think about the idea of going back to Panem, with different characters and possibly a different or stronger message? Maybe a prequel?
