Universal Pictures gives a look behind the scenes in this MORTAL ENGINES featurette that highlights the FX Squad.
The Mortal Engines movie takes cities to a grand scale, but it’s the people behind the film that make it look grander than it really is, which is why Universal has created these behind-the-scenes featurettes to show just how much effort it does take.
This time around, the focus is on the FX Squad, the exhaustive group of people that create the digital and practical effects of the movie to make everything look as realistic as possible to make the audience feel as involved in the movie as possible.
It’s amazing to see the process from one group to another, and the FX Squad is no exception as shown in the video above.
If you want more, check out the Moving Cities featurette below that gives us a peek at the insides of the London Traction City and explains Jihae‘s role as Anna Fang, as well as the group she leads, the Anti-Traction League.
Hundreds of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, a mysterious young woman, Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), emerges as the only one who can stop London — now a giant, predator city on wheels — from devouring everything in its path. Feral, and fiercely driven by the memory of her mother, Hester joins forces with Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan), an outcast from London, along with Anna Fang (Jihae), a dangerous outlaw with a bounty on her head.
Mortal Engines hits theaters December 14th.
