Neil Patrick Harris in negotiations for starring role in Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events
Neil Patrick Harris is in negotiations to star as Uncle Olaf in the Netflix adaptation based on the best-selling children’s books, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. The news of a TV series from Netflix had been released in November of last year and then a search for Violet and Klaus was announced in December.
However, a couple of things happened since then, and Neil Patrick Harris in talks to play Olaf was one of them, a role that was previously played by Jim Carrey in the movie adaptation.
The second news is that Mark Hudis, who was the showrunner of the upcoming series, has left the show, and Netflix is now in search of a replacement for him.
Despite that hiccup, the addition of NPH is still an exciting piece of news for fans of the series.
This could be the first solid role in TV that Neil Patrick Harris has had since the series ending of How I Met Your Mother. Last year, he was host to the season-long variety show, Best Time Ever.
NPH actually shared his excitement of getting signed onto the series on hit twitter account:
I’m excitedish to portray Count Olaf – its spending all day with those three horrible child actors that will be a challenge. #sneer #shudder
