Nerd HQ’s A Conversation With The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

I was fortunate enough to go to this year’s Nerd HQ panel with the cast of The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. The panel was moderated by Zachary Levi himself and included cast members Dylan O’Brien, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Giancarlo Esposito, director Wes Ball, and book author James Dashner.

During the panel the cast and crew of The Scorch Trials answered fan questions from the audience. We also got to see a brand new trailer with never before seen scenes. Not only did we see a new trailer but a clip with a first look at the Cranks was shown as well.

The clip starts off with Thomas and Brenda looking around what looks like a tunnel covered in graffiti. The walls are covered in twisted root looking material. A mouse surprises the two. Just when they start to relax, the mouse is grabbed by a zombie looking creature (a Crank) that was attached to the wall. Suddenly more creatures start to come off the walls and chase Thomas and Brenda out onto a ledge with no escape. Let me tell you, the Cranks look absolutely terrifying.

Watch the video of the panel below:

Here are some pictures I took during the panel:
