Lemony Snicket’s bestselling series is getting a TV show!
If you have ever read A Series of Unfortunate Events, then you know that the three protagonists are Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, three Baudelaire orphans who are forced into custody of the evil Count Olaf. Brad Siberling directed the A Series of Unfortunate Events movie in 2004 which starred Emily Browning and Liam Aiken as Violet and Klaus.
Now Netflix is going to adapt this amazingly dark books series into a TV show. They are looking to cast actors to play Violet and Klaus. Netflix wants an 11 to 14 year old to play Violet. She needs to be:
“Self-confident, capable and smart beyond her years. She helps her brother and sister solve problems with her skills as an inventor. She is the eldest and the natural leader of the group.”
For Klaus, they are looking for an 11 to 13 year old.
“He’s very smart and is a voracious reader. He loves books. He is charming.”
I’m quite excited because these descriptions don’t stray far from the character’s portrayal in the books. But who’s going to play baby Sunny? I love this series and I’m so excited. Time to get ready to binge watch another show!
