Netflix released a new 13 REASONS WHY trailer and it shows that they’re not going to be pulling any punches with the heavy subject matter.

If you’ve read and loved Jay Asher‘s 13 Reasons Why, then you might be concerned with how much they’ll really include from the book, regarding the subject matter of suicide. Well, looking at Netflix’s latest 13 Reasons Why trailer might help ease your thoughts on it. And it certainly doesn’t look like it’s going to be easy for anyone to get through, since suicide is such a dark, deep, and emotional topic.

13 Reasons Why is a new series from Netflix adapted from the best-selling books by Jay Asher. It follows teenager Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) —his classmate and crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. If he listens, he’ll find out how he made the list.  Through Hannah and Clay’s dual narratives, 13 Reasons Why weaves an intricate and heart wrenching story of teenage life that will deeply affect viewers.

The series debuts Friday, March 31st and also stars Brandon Flynn, Ajiona Alexus, Miles Helzer, Steven Silver, Ross Butler, Tommy Dorfman, Justin Prentice, Brian D’Arcy James, and Kate Walsh.
