Watch the New AMERICAN GODS Trailer, plus Emily Browning’s second role

Starz released a new AMERICAN GODS trailer and it’s a crazy, bloody, twisted mess of a trailer…just how we like things from the mind of Bryan Fuller.

A new American Gods trailer was released on Twitter and you can check it out below. This one gives you peeks of many of the gods, old and new, as they rage against each other.

There are several characters you can spot in the trailer with Ricky Whittle‘s Shadow Moon and Ian McShane‘s Mr. Wednesday. In the frantic mix are Laura Moon (Emily Browning), Bilquis (Yetide Badaki), Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schrieber), Easter (Kristin Chenoweth), Mr. World (Crispin Glover), and Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones).

In related news, during their SXSW panel, it was revealed that actress Emily Browning will be taking on another role in the series. That of character Essie Tregowan. This is how Bryan Fuller explained it.

Emily also plays Essie Tregowan, and those who have read the book, Essie was one of Michael and I’s favorite stories in the book. It’s essentially the tale of how Mad Sweeney made it to America,” said Fuller. “And we were talking about casting that role, and as we were in that conversation, Michael said, ‘Oh, we should just cast Emily in this role.’ And then we went to talk to Emily, and it was like, ‘So, the Essie episode’ — she was like, ‘Have you cast that actor yet? Because I think I should play her.’ And we were like, ‘Well, that just worked out well.’

American Gods premieres Sunday, April 30th on Starz.
