Carrie Fisher’s brother Todd divulges that there will be ample Leia screen time in STAR WARS: EPISODE IX.
In great news for fans, Todd Fisher said on Good Morning America that Carrie Fisher’s posthumous appearance in Star Wars: Episode IX will include “lots of minutes of footage” that fit in well with the story. “It’s going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday,” Fisher said.
Perhaps even more reassuring is that the Fisher family is “thrilled” with the way Leia will be portrayed in Episode IX. Carrie was always protective of Leia’s character, and it’s heartwarming to see her family carry on that legacy. As Todd Fisher puts it:
“She was able to be such a shining light, and was able to create such beautiful words and great art in every discipline she put her mind or hand to. I love it when people stand up and tell me how much they admired her and how much inspiration she was to them.”
It’s hard to think about Star Wars without our Princess Leia, but this is certainly encouraging news! The family is continuing to put together unpublished work from Carrie, with Todd promising that There’s a lot more to come from Carrie.”
Star Wars: Episode IX comes out in December.
