Some New FANTASTIC BEASTS Editions Contain Collector-Worthy Misprint

This FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM reprint error could be a rare find for collectors!

After scouring through the new version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them released March 14th, which comes complete with a foreword from J.K. Rowling as Newt Scamander and six new beasts, one fan realized there was something missing.

Michael sent over a photo to Hypable showing a missing paragraph about the Hippogriff that was featured in the 2001 printing of the companion book.

After Hypable contacted them, Scholastic released an official statement acknowledging the error:

In the first printing of the newly updated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, released by Scholastic, three sentences were inadvertently omitted. We regret this error and we want to assure our readers that those editions are no longer being shipped and a corrected edition is now in print and being shipped for all current orders.

We want the Harry Potter fans who eagerly secured their copies on the initial release to be fully satisfied with their purchase. Therefore, any book with the missing sentences can be exchanged for the newer version by returning the book to Scholastic.

So if you snagged this version of the book, Scholastic will take it back and send you a couple copy. However, in the book collection world, misprints tend to have a lot of value. You may want to hold on to it and keep it in good shape as a future investment!
