New FEAR THE WALKING DEAD Teaser Advises Angelenos to Get Their Flu Shots

Strange virus announced in teaser

Check out the new Fear the Walking Dead teaser that shows the familiar look of Los Angeles with it’s urban houses and smoggy sky.  Like a radio news announcement, the voiceover warns of a strange virus hitting various states around the country and advises Angelenos to get their flu shots and stay inside if you’re not feeling well.

If only it were that simple.  If you recall in the original series, The Walking Dead starts off a little before the zombie apocalypse, but we never get to actually see it happening as we go from Rick getting injured in the line of duty and into a coma to him waking up after the outbreak has already happened and it’s already some time, it seems, that the apocalypse has been in duration.  Although, it couldn’t have been that long, it was long enough for the hospital to be abandoned as he was alone when he awoke.

We haven’t received any major descriptions of the first episode, but I’m hoping they delve more into the outbreak in this first season.  Maybe we’ll see it as a “virus” that people are getting deathly ill from and then turning.  As to how it’s being spread and how people react to it in the beginning would give the story a different vibe.

Fear the Walking Dead will star Cliff Curtis (Gang Related), Kim Dickens (House of Cards), Frank Dillane (yes, he played Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), and Alycia Debnam Carey (and yes, she played Lexa in The 100).  The show, being produced by AMC Studios, will be executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert, who also executive produce the original The Walking Dead.  They’ll be joined by showrunner Dave Erickson, who co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman.  And the pilot episode will be directed by Adam Davidson.
