News about GAME OF THRONES Season 8 is finally here!
First up, the premiere month: The final season will air in April. Fellow fans, that’s only five months away! HBO did mention before that the final season will air in the “first half” of 2019. So I think it’s safe to say that the actual season will start and finish well before June.
Second, a new video’s been released. There’s no new footage so it’s not a season 8 trailer. But instead, this new video is setting the stage for the final season. After eight seasons, there’s a lot that’s happened and unless you have an elephant’s memory, you might need a small reminder on who’s dead, who’s alive, and who’s somehow still around. Watch it at the top of the post.
This new video and premiere announcement starts the launch of HBO’s debut marketing effort for the show’s final season, a campaign titled #ForTheThrone. Being released later today will be posters highlighting a moment from each of the main characters’ pasts. So stay tuned for those releases.
